SITUATION

Director of Development for a national $40 million homeless non-profit with 375 employees needed PR counsel on public relations strategy and fundraising campaigns to increase advocacy, volunteerism, and donations.

COMPLICATION

There had been a change in leadership, the messaging for all materials was outdated, and the organization had grown rapidly, hiring 25% more employees in one year.

 

The global pandemic made it impossible to hold in-person fundraising events which had been successful in the past.

RESOLUTION

Conceptualized and wrote the: PR plan, positioning and messaging, media kit (Fact Sheet, FAQs, and Organization History), ethical marketing policy, media relations guidelines, and templates for press releases and social media.

 

RESULTS

Recommended all marketing activities be centralized in the development department.

 

Delivered all materials before one-year fundraising campaign, which enabled development team to spend time to cultivate and increase donations from corporations and philanthropies.
